Circum News is an agency, which publishes client articles on a variety of topics, so that viewers can earn money reading them all while driving web traffic to the client’s websites.  Circum News claims that anyone can sign up and make between $2.00 to $5.00 per article just by reading them.  There is a limit of up to 10 articles per day.

Circum News began in October 2013 as a way to help their clients drive traffic to their online articles and potential work-at-homers make money reading the articles.  On their Facebook fan page, Circum News claims that: “It’s a simple pyramid effect…and rapidly growing by thousands of users a day!”

When Did Things Start Going Wrong With Circum News?

Circum News started becoming popular around September 2013 and seemed to be legitimate. Workers who were getting paid even made YouTube videos of their earnings.  Circum New’s Facebook fan page was developed in November 10, 2013, and it was used to promote the site as a way to make money for the holidays.

Suddenly around December 2013, the $100 cashout turned into a $350 cashout with still no one getting paid past mid- to late October 2013. You can read some of the comments and complaints on the Facebook fan page, since their website closed out in March 2014.

Many workers are still in the dark, claiming to have never been paid.  One guy who was scammed claims that this was just an elaborate scheme to collect PayPal emails and then resell them. Here is a review of one of the workers who was scammed.

I first learned of this job a work-at-home forum.  Even then, work-at-homers were questioning the legitimacy of the site.  My understanding was that even their website did not look professional.

All I can say is that while Circum News may have started out as a legitimate company, it doesn’t appear to have evolved into one.

What Can You Do if You Were Scammed By Circum News or Any Online Job Site?

Do these things as soon as you can:

There is an article that covers most of these, and then I also did additional research to come up with this list.

While none of the above can guarantee you will get your money, you can put a stop to anyone else getting scammed and hopefully bring the company to justice.  Doing these steps will also help keep the Internet safe for all of us.

My Advice?

Always do your homework at blogs like this before accepting any new online job or opportunity.

When in doubt, wait.  Wait and see if the “buzz” and excitement wear off, and scam sets in.  Also, try to stick to those work-at-home companies (WAH) with a proven-track record of a few years.  I know it is impossible sometimes when something is new, but again, always do your homework.

I remember when people were talking about this one last year and so many had such high hopes for it. I figured it may be a scam back then and I guess it turns out we were all right about it. I hate that so many people did this and never got paid. 🙁

Yes, it certainly is sad. The victims are the workers.

Thank you for the warning! I had never heard about it till I read this and I am glad for that. I wouldn’t want to be one of the people who was scammed.
