What is Expected of Agents Working for ARC?

Admittedly I have had a hard time finding thorough information about ARC.  However, based on the information gathered, ARC expects agents who have professional telephone skills, detail oriented with great listening skills as well as excellent writing skills. There is a variety of work at ARC and it does involve agents who are versatile and able to handle a variety of duties.

How Flexible is the Scheduling at ARC?

Their clients have a range of schedules. They claim there are shifts available from nights and weekends to even your standard Monday through Friday 9-5 bank hours. After speaking with an ARC representative I have learned their scheduling system is set up where you provide them your availability and they in response do their best to accommodate your needs with theirs. Here is exactly what was told to me via email:

“Mystery Shopping schedules are set up two weeks to one month in advance.  Agents supply availability and we schedule them for for work/calls during those times.  Call Auditor scheduling requires a 24 hour turn around.  Here again agents let us know their availability and we schedule  according to availability.”

How and When does ARC pay?

Pay range varies based on the jop and job type. They pay every two weeks by either check or direct deposit.

Does ARC hire as Employee or Independent Contractors?

AR hires both Employee based and Independent Contractors. Their Mystery shopping positions are probably on a task basis and therefore those agents are considered IC’s. Their other job types, Call Monitoring, is under Employee basis.

Are There Benefits for ARC Employees?

Yes, the Employees are offered some benefits but I am not sure what or any of the details.

What Kind of Equipment is Needed to Work at ARC?

Of course a computer with high speed internet is needed as well as a good headset with a built-in microphone.

Where Can I Apply for ARC?

Visit their Employment Page to learn how to apply. ** Be aware that their application process will ask questions in regards to in-person mystery shopping. However, Cheryl at ARC has confirmed with me that these are irrelevant to the phone position and are simply a part of the application.

I never understood why this company claims that they hire call center analysts but I have never know anyone to do that for them. Just mystery shopping calls. And they are two different types of things. I cannot find anyone in any forums either that has done something other then mystery shopping. Have you?

I was just accepted as a mystery shopper with this company. The pay is pretty low so far from what the shops I’ve been give ($2.75)/task. You are hired as contractor and can pick your own hours, which is nice. They also have a board when you can assign calls to yourself if you want more shops. This is my first time ever doing mystery shopping, so I’m not sure if it is just this company but they DO NOT pay for calls where you reach voicemail, a busy signal, etc, however, they still expect you to keep trying to call the number. That doesn’t seem fair to me because you aren’t getting paid for that.

Also, the surveys you have to complete at the end of each call are somewhat lengthy and you are required to provide comments.

I’ll let you guys know how it goes once I start earning more. I was told by Cheryl in the meeting that you can earn a minimum of $2.75/task and a maximum of $12/task. I’m not sure if the pay is determined by the tenure of the shopper, the complexity of the task, or both.

Just wanted to update. I’m with this company and the pay has increased. Most of the calls are 3.50 and up and if you are asked to do additionally items they do pay for that as well. You still don’t get paid for busy signals no answer, however if you speak to someone and that’s not the target they will pay you for that call. So far I think its a good extra money gig and you don’t have to leave your home. Most of the questions are yes and no and you make a small comment about the call. Compared to other little eggs I’ve done I consider it to be pretty simple.

Still no comments about if there are other positions available? And they do want personal information, which I am never sure about providing (SSN etc).
