working part-time from home with flexible hours

Lifebushido, is an innovative company that completely thinks out of the box when it comes to working from home! They are dedicated to finding talented individuals and let them use their unique abilities for the greater good of Lifebushido’s clients. Lifebushido is a new-ish company who is growing steadily! With an average of 60 clients and 1000 work at home virtual assistants, Lifebushido is making its mark!

Notice this is a Part1 post! I am part way through the application phase and hope to add a part2 once I begin working with this exciting company! Therefore, I will only be writing on the application process and basics I have learn thus far.

Lifebushido clearly does things their way; this is shown all the way through the application process. The website shows an email address to request more information about applying. They will send you an explanation of the application process, which includes spending the next week sending you an email a day. Each email will explain more about the company and their many job types. From data processing to idea thinkers, there are some exciting and creative jobs available at Lifebushido.

One the 7th day, they email you the instructions for applying. The application process involves answering several questions as well as attaching a a copy of your resume. All of this is posted on a third party website they use for this process. Instructions are given in the application email. If you submit your application by the end of the month, you will hear back from Lifebushido by the 10th of the following month. I love knowing I will hear back, even if it is to tell me NO. I would rather know when to expect a response, rather than sit and wonder for months.

The pay scale is shared in the first intro email from Lifebushido. However, I am not sure if this information can be shared in a public venue. Just know, if you are interested, it does not take much time invested before knowing those details. And as an encourager, it is a fair wage in my opinion. However, beginning with Lifebushido you will be allowed up to 5 hours a week.
Once you complete 100 hours, you are reviewed. If Lifebushido still feels the quality of your work fits what they expect, they will consider moving you up to 20 hours per week. I believe 20 hours is the maximum.

Lifebushido is very flexible. I believe their platform is set up with tasks you can pick and choose from. This allows you to work whenever you feel like. I am not aware of a work minimum at Lifebushido but I do believe if you are inactive for so long they will ask if you are still interested in continuing at Lifebushido.

Lifebushido is a great way to put your individual talents to use. Whether you enjoy making videos, writing, creating newsletters or maintaining websites, there are many unique job titles! I hope everyone can find their perfect fit at Lifebushido and not only work at home but also be HAPPY and EXCITED while working at home! Read all through their website here: http://www.lifebushido.com and be sure to start the application process. After you go through the week of daily information, you can better gauge your fit with Lifebushido and determine whether to go through with applying. What do you have to lose!?

Hello,

I loved all of these posts. A lot of these things we have, but I got some really great ideas. I am really thankful to you for providing out parts information.

Hello, Miranda. I don't see a part 2 for LifeBushido. Is there one to report, and, if so, how did it go?

No, there is not a Part 2 unfortunately. There should be a follow up but I never got back to it and I will explain why. I will let this comment serve as the follow up to my experience with Lifebushido.

To begin, Lifebushido stated very bluntly that I would know Yes or No (if I would be hired) by the 10th of the following month. I did not hear anything back. I waited a good 3-4 months before ever receiving a response and was dissapointingly turned down for the job.

Recently, I received an email telling me I was fortunate to be one of a few chosen people to be given a second chance at Lifebushido. I did not follow through with the opportunity because it required a lot of 'hoop jumping' (filling out forms and printing out documents to mail to their head office). I have been satisfied with the work I have been doing at Demand Media and no longer feel the need to push for the position.

Lifebushido follows the beat to their own drum. It does take someone who can appreciate the uniqueness and differences of Lifebushido to fully respect the work there. I do know someone personally who really enjoys the work and is very happy with Lifebushido and Steve Kantor. But to an ordinary person, the application process seems a bit odd.

Here it is the 10th of the month and I still have not heard back. How interesting.

Strangely, I can never find anyone that has worked for Lifebushido. NO ONE has anything to say about them? NO ONE, anywhere?? The entire process seems shady and strange. I think the owner of Lifebushido wants to act like a big shot business man because he certainly doesn’t hire anyone! I bet the author of this article is Steve, himself!

Complete waste of time jumping through bizarre “Stephen King” style of applying just to get no where. I received an email stating that there was NO ROOM for me due to the overwhelming response.. BUT maybe ‘do this or that’ to improve my chances. Funny, I already did all he asked, jumped through all the hoops, I was a prime candidate for his big real estate ideas, and I even gave him leads he asked for. I even DID the things he suggested I should do to “improve my chances” prior to his email suggesting so. Lot of good that did. I asked him, why are you still posting on job boards if you have no room? He replied “we are a growing company”. Sounds contradictory. This guy is a bored whacko.

I am not ‘Steve’.
lol
I have heard a lot of people with the same complaints too. But i have had friends who did work for them. One of them loved it from the start but then later when I talked to her she had quit. She said she had to ‘jump through hoops’ just to do her work and much of that time was not paid for. So, the ten an hour was really much less when she counted the work she did for free just to do everything their way.

I do agree, it seems there is some power hunger there!

I was officially hired into Lifebushido with my Triangle known as Passionate Visionaries. It was a long process to go through, but we made it. All my team mates on my Triangle ended up quitting because we found out as we did all the tasks, some were paid and some were not! We did so much work and put alot of effort into this, I felt like I was in school!

For some, Lifebushido is a great company to work for, but for me the hours were not there and the pay was not fair for all the work that you do. They talk about finding your unique talents, but once you are in, Steve mainly wants you to do the calling on warm leads, which I seriously don’t like doing customer service at all. It looks like they just keep hiring people, but they have already enough staff and it looks like they give the hours to those who has been there long enough. The company is not fair at all.

I happen to work with Lifebushido past year and had to leave unfortunately for personal reasons, its the best to work with them. Its entire team is very cooperative and friendly, plus i never felt burdened by work. I miss working with them:(

Thanks for posting this review and getting the conversation started. I really wish I’d found your site before I started the hiring process for this company. It would have saved me allot of time- I really hate when companies have you jump through hoops for nothing.

I work for them right now. I applied in July and was hired on August 1. The hiring process is arduous for a reason – it allows people to fire themselves early rather than spending a large amount of time training to only drop in a few months.

I’ve had no problem being paid at all, and being paid very quickly (within 5 days). I keep my own time and bill for it. Not sure where the 5 hours was pulled from, other than the first 7 days of ‘New Hire’ tasks are about 5 hours. I had 35 hours my very first month in which I did a lot of training. Not as much this month as my training is over and I am ramping up with clients. I expect next month the be over 50 to 75 as you are prohibited from working more than 25 hours per week.

They are talking a lot about callers because that is where the need is at the moment. I have been asked several times about being a caller to get my hours up but I know that’s not something I enjoy (having done it for 3 years for Disney) so I decline and it’s no problem. If one becomes a caller (calling warm leads) that doesn’t mean they are destined to stay there as a caller. There are many teams with the company but calling is one that takes less time to train and you get more hours quicker. I’ll take less hours if it means I’m not calling people. It’s not a matter of ‘you must be a caller’. It’s a matter of ‘you can be a caller to get max billable hours’.

They say in the very beginning that only 1 in 10 get hired. I’m surprised that people are griping about the hiring process when the odds are like that. I’ve found that in all my WAH roles you have to continually set yourself apart.

Will I stay there forever? Of course not. I don’t see it an a career move because I want to be my own boss again someday. I just happen to have a skill set and prolific background that works with this company.
