I thought today’s post would be a good time to start an open discussion. I am working on a final portfolio for one of my classes (philosophy) and have found myself crunched for time. Therefore I will not be able to complete any new reviews this week. But once this week is over I am all in for Summer!

So, today’s discussion: What is The Best Thing About Working From Home?

Is it the huge savings of gas money? The flexibility? The fact it is the only way to get a job in your area!!??

For me, it is the fact that I am my own boss. I love that I can create my own deadlines, my own schedule and as a freelancer I can often even decide my paycheck amount. While one of my driving motivators is the fact I can be home with my children, it is not the best part for me. I know this because once my children are in school, and not as dependent on me, I will still be working from home! I am in love with the fact that I do not have a boss watching and judging my every move!

What about you? What is your favorite part working from home? (or for some, the IDEA of working from home)

The best part for me is being able to just put everything on hold when I need to if my kids are sick or something comes up. I also like not having someone there looking over my shoulder all the time to make sure I'm working (although I have to admit that I might actually get more work done if I did, lol). And I very very much appreciate the savings in gas money, especially now with the prices hovering around $4/gallon in my area.

The flexibility, which involves being able to take care of my kids if they are sick, pick my son up from school, and allow them to take lessons and other things I might not be able to get them to otherwise. It is not as easy as I thought it would be, but it is still AWESOME!

I have been searching for a legitimate work at home position for over a year now.
It's so exciting and such a relief to know that all my hard work as paid off.
I really want to work at home because of the flexibility and being able to just be at home!
I was raised with a mom who stayed home with us and I loved it and ever since then I always wanted to stay at home and be able to clean the house and such.
I also love saving money on gas! That is like getting a bonus when you realize how much money you actually save on gas!

This is such a GREAT question. I love that I can be available for my children. We don't have family around and my husband works out of town a lot, so if I had a traditional office job it'd be quite the pickle.

So, I love the flexibility.

I love that my kids get to see business in action. As my oldest is now 13 she's getting interested in entrepreneurial things.

I also get to save on gas and have zero office politics.

The best part of working from home for me is that I don't have to send my 3 month old away to daycare. His 10 month old cousin is in daycare seriously from 6am – 5pm 5 days a week while both his parents work. I could never do that to my son!! So I was VERY driven to find an at home job so I could support him AND raise him without compromise. I love that the job I have gives me the flexibility to stop for 30mins or so to play, hold or comfort him when he needs me. I also live in timbuktu so not having to pay gas (OR daycare!!!) is incredible.

For me it is being home with my almost three year old and never having to miss my seven year old's sports or school activities. I can always schedule around her and that is important to me.

For me it is the freedom and flexibility of being at home. As some of my eggs are dying I need to find new ones, but I am hopeful.

As a chronic severe pain sufferer this is the only way for me to hold down a full time job. I am protected by FMLA since celebrating my one year anniversary. So when I have to go to doctor’s appointment and procedures or need a day off that time goes toward FMLA.
I’m able to work in the comfort of my own home. I don’t deal with lots of noise and bright lights which aren’t good for my migraines.
On days that I want to tough it out I’m bundled in a blanket with my TENS unit and heat pad. No one see me through the phone.
