If you are good at coming up with cool domain names, go ahead and register with us. -PickyDomains.com

Picky Domains is an innovative solution for bloggers and website creators who are having trouble scheming up the perfect name or domain address. By utilizing the vast number of creative people online, Picky Domains, has found much success with their service.

How Does Picky Domains Work?
Website creators tell Picky Domains what their needs are, their market and the type of name they are going for. Picky Domains shares this info with the pool of registered users and the creative minds begin churning up domain name ideas and making suggestions. If your ideas fit into their requirements then the website host can view them and decide if they like or dislike. If they find one they decide to use they pay Picky Domains $50 and that money is split, $25 to Picky Domains and $25 to the Originator of the domain name.

Is Picky Domains Really Worth the Effort?
It really is very simple and easy to do. However, it is sort of a random thing to be chosen and you never know if your efforts will pay out. This is not necessarily something you should do if you are trying to make a living, but if you enjoy coming up with ideas and have a creative mind, then it may be enjoyable enough to do for the fun and hope that your idea is chosen.

How Does Picky Domains Pay?
Picky Domains pays through PayPal and they do not soak up the PayPal fees. Meaning your $25 payment becomes just under $24 once PayPal removes their fee. This type of fee is generally soaked up by the company, but in this instance (at least since a report from 2008) they do not pay this fee.

What Kind of Information Do You Share to Be a Picky Domain Contributor?
All you have to do to sign up is share your name and email address. It is quick and easy to register and get started at Picky Domains.

Is Picky Domains a Scam?
There are a couple of recurring questions that even myself ask when thinking of the logistics of Picky Domains. First, who is to say that the client is not gathering all of your ideas then deciding none of them fit and going ahead and registering without paying the $50 to Picky Domains? Is this all built on an honor system? There are plenty of dishonorable people online that would make a service like this fall apart. Possibly Picky Domains has a system set up to prevent this? Who really knows?

Also, can we believe Picky Domains? Are they not really a service that is taking the best domain names and buying them, building them and selling for a profit? I guess that does not really matter on our end as long as they are paying us our $25 for each chosen domain.

While I cannot say assuredly that Picky Domains is not a scam, My ideas have never been chosen. I can tell you that you really have nothing to lose if you expect nothing. Consider it a fun gig and if you are chosen…celebrate! But if you come up with a really good domain name! Don’t just hand it over to Picky Domains, look into purchasing it yourself!

That is a pretty interesting idea, I would have never known there is a service out there where you could put in all your information ( such as what your niche is ) and get domain ideas from it, I always see the suggested ones and they are never good.
I agree with you – go about it with caution and if you have a really good domain name, purchase it yourself and you could in return make more money! Never know!
Great post!

This website pickydomains is to me not a scam I have been paid for picked domains. I also have a friend that been paid also. Sure there is times where you give domains and the client refunds money after you put time in giving that client domain suggestions. Will you just have to take the good with the bad sometimes. But they do pay and its been a great place to make extra bucks sometimes. To me this website is leget and “not a scam”.

We are not a scam. Somebody is simply spreading this lie, most likely our competitors. We cover this issue in FAQ.

They are legit but the competition is way too stiff now. There are orders with 10s of 1000s of suggestions. The odds of being picked are so low. Even for very creative ideas. Not worth the time, in my opinion. Good website overrun by too many people. I’d love to hear if anyone in 2014 has had any luck. Especially more than once. Maybe I would try again.
