Pierce-Eislen

Pierce-Eislen

In my dream world, I picture myself with a well-paying job I can successfully complete while my kids playfully dance, sing and make all the noises kids are suppose to create. Pierce-Eislen may be the answer to my dreams! I have previously told you about a similar company, Intellicheck. They both do mystery shopping over the phone.

From the research I have gathered, Independent agents would be asked to call assigned apartment complexes and portray a genuine interest in their complexes. There would be a series of questions assigned to each task. Because Pierce-Eislen wants their work to be as covert as possible, regular background noise is preferred.  So, let your dogs bark, neighbors knock, kids scream, TV run while you work, and you will be doing your job successfully!

Pierce-Eislen reportedly pays their contractors $11/hour plus bonuses! The pay is via a paper check. The work is seasonal and my understanding is that they are currently hiring for the fall season.  To apply, send a one page resume to [email protected]    [email protected] for the Spring 2011 season!

It's not a predefined set of questions – it's a standard data set you have to gather for each property and you develop your own technique for gathering the data without using the internet to research it. It must be voice. You *only* get the $11 per hour if you meet the daily quota otherwise the pay drops to $8 per hour. You do need unlimited Long Distance on your personal phone to do this. It's fun, but it's not for everyone. If you are meek or shy, you probably won't like it. If you can control a call and know how to get info without sounding like you're taking a survey, you'll do well. The project lasts for about 4-5 weeks 3 times per year, with hours hard to get the last week and a half. They are a great company, but it's always good to have the full info 🙂

I worked for them when they first started using home workers. Back then they just hired local people. I went to the Scottsdale, AZ office for training. It was interesting. I should sign up again! Thanks for the notice that they are hiring again.

They are still hiring work-at-home consultants as of spring 2013. You need to pass a basic screening test and complete some paperwork before being hired. The current rate is $10/hour and they require you to complete 80 surveys per week at a rate of 8-10 per hour. Your pay rate will be adjusted up or down depending on your productivity and the average completion rate of the other callers working at the same time (it gets harder at end of month so if you are near average for all callers, you will get paid average rate). I was concerned because although my contact rate was 12-14 per hour, my completion rate was more like 4-6 per hour. I was afraid I’d get paid half as much or be terminated (they do threaten to fire you if you consistently fail to complete 80 surveys) but I actually made about $11/hour when all was said and done. It isn’t difficult work, but it can be frustrating. Some apartments have 20-30 different floor plans and some will only tell you rents for units that are available so you have to be creative or pushy to get the info you need. You only get credit for the properties you complete (thus my small completion rate – many of my cities had a lot of very large properties) so it can be depressing to work several hours with not much to show for it. It is also difficult if you find yourself calling the same properties over & over (due to large number of floorplans) and talking to the same person. In the last week or two of the survey they allow you to call any city, not just the ones assigned to you, so that makes it less likely an agent will recognize your voice or phone number and refuse to talk to you. Although it was stressful in the 2nd or 3rd week when I was struggling to meet quotas, now that it’s almost over I will definitely be a caller again in the future. It’s been a great supplement to my income.
