Rat Race Rebellion and Phone Sex Operating Jobs!?

Updated on: by Amy Kennedy

Part of my usual morning routine, after I drop my daughter off at preschool is to check for the most recent Work at Home job openings and news. The first place I visit is Rat Race Rebellion.com. Only, this morning the page wouldn’t load so I skipped it. After trying again a half hour later and still having trouble, I visited their Facebook Fan Page to see why.

That is where I learned Rat Race Rebellion was featured on Good Morning America! The rush of traffic had slowed down their site! Viewers were looking for Work From Home jobs and more specifically, many were seeking Phone Sex Operator Jobs!

Good Morning America, or GMA, did a piece on how hundreds of women are now turning to Phone Sex Operating Jobs from home out of desperation. One young new mom talked of how she applied to as many as 20-30 places around her town and came up short, still jobless. Somehow she was led to Phone Sex Operating Jobs from home and her husband supported her decision, claiming he was just thankful for the extra income. But the young woman talked of her job with much displeasure. She mentioned how she is often disgusted with herself, talking dirty to men, women, couples, perverts…while her son slept down the hall.

But Good Morning America and Chris from Rat Race Rebellion say desperate times call for desperate measures. I personally have my own opinion on the subject. But I also have never been in the position where it was a choice between letting my children go hungry or take a job I feel disgusted by. But wait…I have…a couple of times actually!

But now, I realize a couple of things. One, I was not really as desperate as I thought. It is amazing what some creative thinking and drive can bring to your finances. Two, I accepted the jobs because it was just the first thing I found that worked with my schedule. Instead of persisting to want better for myself, I took those jobs and only searched again when those jobs were lost. (Not phone sex or sex related btw).

So what makes us settle for things we hate? Are we so lazy we don’t wan to fight to find and do better? Do we have ourselves convinced there is no other option?

Rat Race Rebellion’s support for Phone Sex Operating Jobs has caused a stir among some of their readers. Personally I begin to wonder how you could be on their site, see the thousands of options you have, see the current work at home job openings and still choose to pursue the home based sex jobs.

Well, Good Morning America makes it seem you can earn as much “1000 dollars in one day” working in the sex industry from home? Is that true?!
Who NEEDS that much money anyway? It’s not desperation that is driving this business, to be blunt, it is greed.

There are piles of places hiring people to work from home answering calls that do not require you to speak in your sexiest voice. RatRaceRebellion and many others list jobs daily! There ARE jobs out there and if you are driven enough to find them and make them work for you, then it will happen. You don’t have to do a job you are disgusted with simply because you have no options. There ARE options.

Trust me, as someone who felt like the biggest slimeball on the planet for being involved with some of the most slimy companies around, there is no reason to live your life in misery and allowing it to take over your mind.

Whether you are a phone sex operator, sexting for a living or selling makeup- if you are not comfortable, it effects you, your children, your spouse and anyone else in your life. You are not doing anyone a favor. Get out and Get out Now!

(If you are a PSO and you love your job, then this is not directed to you, it is geared toward those who claim they feel disgusted with their work. I have been there and I say move on! There is MORE!)

I completely agree. There are jobs out there so the excuse that it’s what they “have to” do is lame and untrue. No matter how desperate times get there are always options and whatever happened to living by principle instead of greed? I, too, have taken jobs that I hated because I needed to at the time. I’d rather make $8/hour doing work that I hate for a short time than selling myself out to the highest bidder, which is kind of what these women are doing, in my opinion. Contrary to what it seems is acceptable today, there is a right and wrong in life. We can all choose.

I think there may be a lot of people who don’t really want to do it but also may not know about the other things that are out there, but then there are some who may truly like the work. But yeah, I agree … there are lots of other options out there to explore for anyone who is doing this when they don’t really want to be. Very interesting post!

I have followed some discussions on a work-at-home mom board I frequent about these jobs, and most of the people who did them couldn’t stay with it for long. They said it wore them down psychologically. I can’t imagine doing something like this myself. I hope we’re spreading the word, through our sites, that there are other opportunities out there to work from home – maybe not making $1,000 a day, but making a living nonetheless.

I’ve used the RatRaceRebellion.com website for years now and love the variety of jobs they have posted there.

I saw the GMA segment and didn’t feel at all that Ms. Durst was promoting phone sex work, but rather presenting an unbiased fact — more moms are asking them about where to find that kind of work.

I kind of feel like this post made it sound like RRR is advocating for this kind of work. Their site makes it very clear they are not.

Sorry if I misunderstood. Just my .02 cents!

Merry Christmas!

Thanks for commenting Justine. I probably did not express myself very well. I was too worried about crossing any lines and it sort of jumbled my message!

I have no problem with RRR having this information to share. I also agree that they were not promoting it, but making us aware. My issue came when they both agreed that many people do this type of work out of desperation claiming “desperate times call for desperate measures” ( I use quotes lightly haha ). I don’t see this as though it is a desperate line of work—it is for the greedy. Someone will probably bite my head off here over this comment. But I am calling it like I see it. It is either ignorance or greed that brings you to doing a job like satisfying men’s sexual desires. Maybe that is what some people love doing and they enjoy their job. I am not here to push my values and morals on you. Just don’t use the excuse you were desperate to provide for your children to reason it away to people!!

I mean to me it is like a segment on how many women are turning to stripping or even prostitution (takin’ it to the extreme here) but saying it is out of desperation. I just don’t believe it. I believe women are not desperate for their basic survival needs but desperate for a lifestyle that they could not otherwise (or so they tell themselves) make.

I am just glad the segment directed people to RatRaceRebellion.com because there is a wealth of information there and maybe they can avoid doing something that makes them feel as disgusting as many claim they feel.

“It is either ignorance or greed that brings you to doing a job like satisfying men’s sexual desires.”
That’s a strong judgement to make about women that do PSO work. I’m a mom, and have been doing this for 7 years and love my job.

How did you find a sex operator job? I’m looking now, and can’t seem to find any??

Thanks.

people are needed for each job and if there were not people out there doing this one then worse things would be happening I beleive. I do not think it is ignorents or greet just hard times. You never know someone elses sittuation until you are in it. people do things in life they may look back on and regrett but had know choice at that time. If someone likes this job then who am I to judge. I beleive only one can judge and I am not him nor am I perfect to judge anyone one else nor to I know anyone else who is perfect. To each there own. Not being mean if I come off that way then I am sorry but IT IS WHAT IT IS, right now it is a job for some in hard situations and times and to me shows they will do what ever it takes to take care of there family. Merry Xmas.

I gotta say, I have to disagree. I have been a phone sex opperator for 6 years now, and I don’t feel like I’ve ‘settled for something I hate.’ In fact, I have had other jobs and quit them because I love being a PSO more. Up until now, I’ve been running my own business for myself, but I am starting a new service where women can work for me from home. I agree with many of the replies here saying that you have made gross exaggerations and assumptions about something you haven’t yet tried.

Mistress Kiara,
you shouldn’t have to justify yourself to anybody. You may be doing the community a big favor by ‘satisfying” the needs of the anonymous caller. Perhaps he would find a more colorful and violent way to his fantasy. You are keeping him at home. I would like to hear more about your start up. Teetee

Phone Sexing My Way Through My Bills

Very interesting article. True, being a PSO is not for the faint of heart and earnings are less profitable these days than it used to be, yet it still is a great second income in my opinion…I worked for a few companies then decided to work for myself, as a website owner on myphonesite.com/AffLandLink/1217/2836 .They take 40% but provide many services (web hosting, secure billing, image/video hosting, online support, you can even launch a store ).Then, everything is up to you: your rates, your schedule…They have a solid client base, (have been seen on cnn, fox etc ) and you can build your own client base or use your existing one (they even provide marketing tools), they just have to register – which is free, just like for the website owners. Check it out!

I actually found my current work-at-home job on RRR.com. It’s definitely not a PSO job, but I work for Active Network.

RRR is an excellent Work at Home Resource! They certainly know their stuff and have been around longer than most of us. I trust what they say and value their opinions. This particular media piece made me sad though – if you watch the video of their interview you find a woman who went into PSO work because her husband wanted her to for the money. Made me really sad.

I am desperately seeking a stay at home job but have been unsuccessful so far. I NEED some help with LEGITIMATE websites to look.

The last year has been terrible for my family medically and I am forced to stay at home to take care of my husband, and I lost my previous job because I chose to take care of my family in need, we can’t afford a nurse, medical bills piling up daily, etc, etc.
Not trying to give you my sob story, as I know that people have it much worse than we do. I JUST need to find a job from home, and I know they are out there, I just need some help being pointed in the right direction.
PLEASE HELP REFER ME TO LEGIT SITES…
Thank you in advance, and thank you for your time

Respectfully,
Tracy
