How fast can you type?  If you are going to be working at home, then you need some serious skill. It’s no secret that working from home is awesome but you have to keep up with the big dogs. Thankfully, there are sites out there that actually help you with your typing skills and lucky for you, here are the top five websites to help you test your typing skill.

Typing Web

Nothing is better than free, right? TypingWeb.com allows you to start testing your typing skills out for free. You can start out testing typing skills by the “top row” or the “home row.” Either way, it’s fun to get some practice in and start typing away. You do need to become a member before they will let you type for free. If you think you want to become some kind of typing expert, then you can even apply for certifications. Just imagine how many more dollars you can earn by learning to type just a little bit faster.

Learn-2-Type

The name of the website is pretty obvious as to what it’s offering. It does not matter how many years you have been typing, it’s still wise to put a little practice in every once in a while. There is a really simple test you can take on Learn2Type.com. Some people like basic tests because they feel it’s more realistic for them. It doesn’t really matter how you prefer to learn as long as you are learning.

Typing Test

We probably had you at the title, didn’t we? Some people learn better from playing typing games. Who doesn’t mind a little game every now and then? Typingtest.com is a very simple way to learn better typing skills. If you’re up for it, then give it a shot. The website says it’s free and there are dozens of typing tools to help get you started. Let us know how it goes!

Power Typing

This is also a great resource to help you learn to type. Sit back and play some games that help enhance your writing abilities. This typing website is ideal for anyone who likes to have fun and learn. The tool used in this site is known as the free typing tutor and it’s prepared to teach anyone how to type. You can even practice how fast you type. In reality, Powertyping.com is ideal for anyone looking for the whole typing tutor package.

Everyone wishes they could become a master at typing. Typingmaster.com helps you realize those goals. Who knows, this could help you reach your New Year’s typing resolution. This typing tool actually connects with Facebook and might let all your friends see how slow or fast you type. There is also a free test available to take on typing!

This is just a brief overview of SOME of the typing skills tests available out there. I like that you can try these out for free without paying a fee. Of course, make sure you check out their legitimacy because as far as I could tell, they were free. My personal record for typing is around 100 words per minute.

What is your average words per minute? I would love to hear!

Get ready for it …. drumroll …. I can type 105 WPM 🙂
What can I say? I paid attention in my computer’s classes, lol.
My boyfriend will be talking to me and I just turn my head and I will still be typing and he’s always like “How are you doing that!?” haha

We should have a Typing War! That would be fun!! 🙂

My husband does the same thing, I will be typing away and watching TV or talking to him and he is like “What is the world?”

Now I must go see what my speed is. The last I checked mine was like 80, and I thought it was good, you guys are winning!

If I am focused, I can type 105 WPM, but I would say that my average is 88 WPM. It just depends on how focused I am. I would love a typing war, but I’m too busy with work at the moment lol.
