I’m surprised Amazon’s Mechanical Turk didn’t make the list. That’s where I started, and to my knowledge, Crowdsource still pays very reasonably for articles from beginners there [as long as you pass their exam on write.com]. It wasn’t uncommon to get $20 to $25 for something you could power through in half an hour to an hour.

Still, it’s nice to see some new names. Textbroker, of course, I’ve heard of (and was driven off by the barrel-bottom pay), but the rest are new to me.

Article Document sounds very promising, but my Webroot antivirus says it’s stuffed to the gills with malware. Hoping it’s a false positive, but better safe than sorry, I suppose. Definitely looking into the rest though– thank you for the great list!

Great list. I got my freelancing start with writing, but quickly transitioned into developing websites. Where I got my start was elance.com, was not the greatest pay but being a native english speaker gave me an edge! Good way to get your work out there. I then built a website and had actual examples I could show hire paying clients!

I noticed you are using the genesis framework for your site, good stuff! You still have the Genesis G favicon (the little black G in the tab). I wrote a post to help people change that, its a huge branding opportunity: http://thrivewp.com/how-to-add-a-favicon-to-your-wordpress-website/ (video as well, don’t laugh at my talking though!)

Hope it helps!

I want to write about what I know. I can write articles about mental health problems and with addiction. I don’t have experience, but I just need to have a chance. How can I have experience if I don’t get experience?
