Working from home through the virtual world of the internet provides us with an unlimited array of resources and tools. We’ve tried a lot of things to keep ourselves organized, websites to find new online jobs and tools to stay productive. After years of experience to see what is working for us and what isn’t we decided to compile a list of the top work at home resources we simply love.

Indeed Job Board Searching

We use a long list of websites to find legitimate work at home opportunities. None of them have come close to providing as many great leads as Indeed does. Many of the leading companies that offer work at home positions are using Indeed to post current openings – it’s almost a one stop shop for virtual employment.

AdHuntr

Of course, many companies are posting their virtual employment needs on Craigslist. However, it can be difficult to browse through because the free online classified site is location based. That is where AdHuntr has stolen our hearts as being a great way to explore Craigslist with ease by allowing you to search all of the Craigslist rather than by location.

Google Drive

Google Drive offers a lot of tools for remote workers. We use Google Drive in place of Microsoft Office by utilizing the Documents and Spreadsheets. You can also create a calendar to track and share your schedule. This online program allows you to create and store your documents online which makes it easy to share with others without needing to download software. Plus, you can sync your Drive account with your SmartPhone to better keep track of your schedule and view/edit your documents on the go.

Copyscape

Writers and bloggers are using Copyscape on a regular to be sure they are not accidentally plagiarizing other people’s work. When researching your subject of discussion – it can be easy to non-intentionally repeat phrases or sentences. It might seem like your brain came up with the wording but copyscape will catch you if your brain was simply regurgitating what it had previously read. Copyscape works by allowing you to paste your text into their system and then it will scan the web to ensure your content is original.

WorkFlowy

It is no surprise that we are all more efficient with our time when we keep lists. WorkFlowy is a great online resource that helps you keep your to-dos organized. WorkFlowy is special because it allows you to make sublists within a list – meaning you can break things down in more detail to accomplish your goals in smaller bites. We find keeping track of our days with to-do lists is essential to staying productive and on track with looming deadlines.

Evernote

Evernote is a virtual tool to keep information organized. This tool allows you to make and save notes, images, websites, voice notes and more all in one place. There are Evernote apps you can add to your smartphone to stay organized and make notes from anywhere. Rather than jotting down a note on a scrap piece of paper that our kids will likely find and scribble on – we are turning to evernote to keep track of those important notes.

Work Place Like Home

This is an online forum where other people who work from home are gathering to chat, rant and share advice. It is a great place to meet new people and to learn more about that job you are thinking of applying for. The forum is a closed/private site that requires you to register as a member to enter. However, the membership is free. WorkPlaceLikeHome.com has become the first go-to place we visit when researching work at home positions.
