How Do I Print and Use Gift Tag Templates?
The best way to find out how you should print each set of gift tag templates you want is to check the instructions on the website you get them from.
In most cases, there will be a few sentences describing the best way to download and print them off.
Some labels may do best with certain kinds of paper and cutting techniques, so reading those instructions can help ensure that your labels turn out just like you want them to.
However, not all websites have instructions for their labels, so I’m going to outline the general instructions to follow when printing free present labels:
- Put cardstock paper in your printer. It’s thicker than regular paper, making it durable and allowing colors to show up well instead of bleed through.
- If necessary, tell your printer what kind of paper you added. You can change this in the settings on your printer, and helps you printer know how it should print your labels.
- Download the template you want to use.
- Open that file and click Print on your computer.
- Make sure the print preview looks good (play with the settings if needed) and click Print.
- Once printed, you can use scissors or paper cutters to cut out your designs.
Some label templates will use standard label sizes, like address labels. The website should tell you if that’s the case.
If so, add sheets of labels in that size instead of cardstock, and your present tags will automatically be sticky!
