But how do I find these jobs? Creating WAH Adventures was all about sharing what I have learned with others, so they too can help themselves and find their perfect work from home job. The following tips and tools are how I dig through the thousands of scams and find truly legitimate work from home.
Read- While looking for legitimate work from home companies, I find myself reading for hours. Starting right here, right now, you can visit the resource tab at the top (or click here) and find dozens of websites giving work from home company reviews, job leads and advice. Many of those pages also list their recommended blogs and websites. This chain of websites can link you to a wealth of valuable knowledge.
I have been researching for quite some time, I still find new work from home jobs every single time I sit down and begin reading websites and blogs. I often start right here, on my own resource page.
Subscribe– Each of these websites, just as I have done here, have ways of subscribing to their updates. If you find yourself on a website or blog page that is building your excitement for working from home, subscribe to their newsletters, Twitter, Facebook fan pages or RSS Feeds.
My email inbox is filled daily with job leads provided from fantastic websites like workathomemomrevolution.blogspot.com, genuinejobs.com and blackkeyboard.wordpress.com to name a few. These updates are often my source of job leads and inspiration for company reviews.
Interact– Join online forums, such as workplacelikehome.com or wahm.com and interact with the other members. You will find hundreds of other work at home-ers willing to share their experiences and the home based companies they have found. There are even many helpful users and even recruiters from sites who also post job leads. This is also a great way to find support and encouragement for working from home.
Apply- Sometimes the idea of working from home, or in a field you have no experience with is intimidating. However, not applying will get you nowhere. Sometimes you just have to take a leap and see where you land. You will never land that perfect job, if you do not take the first step and apply!
In addition to reading, subscribing, interacting, and applying, another key step is to engage in networking. This means actively reaching out to people in your professional circle, which includes former colleagues, acquaintances, and even family members. Inform them that you’re on the lookout for opportunities to work from home. Sometimes, the most valuable leads can come from the people who already know you and your capabilities. Furthermore, it’s beneficial to join professional networking sites like LinkedIn, where you can connect with others in your desired industry. Such platforms often host industry-specific groups that frequently share remote job opportunities.
Another strategy involves honing your skills or learning new ones relevant to the work-from-home jobs you’re interested in. This is often referred to as upskilling. Today, with the rise of online learning platforms such as Coursera, Udemy, or Skillshare, you can conveniently acquire new skills from the comfort of your own home. These platforms offer a vast selection of courses across different fields. By dedicating some time each day to learning, you can significantly enhance your attractiveness as a potential employee for work-from-home opportunities.
The last but certainly not least important strategy is to leverage job search platforms. Websites like Indeed, Glassdoor, or specialized remote work platforms like WeWorkRemotely or FlexJobs, are full of job listings, including work-from-home opportunities. When using these platforms, it’s crucial to use specific search terms like “remote”, “work from home”, or “telecommute” to filter out the relevant job postings. Additionally, when browsing these platforms, ensure you’ve set up job alerts with these specific search terms. This means you’ll receive an email notification whenever a new job that matches your preferences is posted. This can help you apply early and increase your chances of landing the job.
Anyone with a computer and ability to read has access to the hundreds of helpful websites, blogs and forums where you can find legitimate work from home. It is in these places where you can find information that will lead you to your perfect work at home job! No one can do it for you, you must take those steps, but you are not alone.
If you want to be sure to catch every work at home job review I give, be sure to enter your email address at the top right corner of the screen for my newsletter or (even better) Facebook Like the WAHAdventures fan page, where I give daily job leads throughout the day.
