Market Force is one of the most well-known mystery shopping companies around. They hold a high level of respect in not only the shopper’s eyes but also to the many mainstream brands and businesses that do business with them.

Market Force is the first place I check when I am ready to do a little mystery shopping to make some money and also get out of my house!

I have chosen to create a Vlog about Market Force. The reason being is that it is a bit easier to explain the process of mystery shopping by talking than it is for me to write it out. I have been asked so many times to explain mystery shopping and I just never hit the mark, and I always feel as though I am struggling to give mystery shopping any justice.

So, be sure to watch the video and some of the basics about Market Force will also be explained below.

Do I Choose My Own Assignments at Market Force or Are They Given to Me?

Market Force posts all the shops available and you can go and see what is open in your area whenever you have time. Agents from Market Force may call you from time to time when there is a task pending in your area, but you are not obligated to accept the shop.

How Does Market Force Pay?

Market Force pays via Direct Deposit or by check! They pay out on the 20th of every month for all assignments completed the previous month. While this is a long time to wait for reimbursements and shopping payments, it is a very standard time frame in the mystery shopping world.

Compared to other mystery shopping companies, Market Force pays very well. A standard fast-food shop pays around $8- plus a meal for two people. However, as explained in the video, that rate often goes up the longer the shop sits-waiting for a shopper to complete!

Can I Bring My Kids Along for Mystery Shops?

So far, all the shops I have seen with Market Force does not allow children to come along.  There are some companies that are fine with it, as long as there is another adult present to handle the children. But, Market Force says NO.

What Equipment is Needed to Mystery Shop for Market Force?

You will need a computer with internet access. Most shops will require a stopwatch. Some shops will need a digital camera.

How Can I View the Shops Available at Market Force?

You must register with Market Force in order to see what shops are available in your area. Registering does not mean you MUST work. Remember, you pick and choose your own tasks. Therefore, you are not agreeing to work by simply registering.

I Love Market Force! It is quick and easy money, and who doesn’t like FREE lunch! πŸ™‚

Market force has many great shops, but treat their shoppers like crap. They find any way not to accpet your shop, put restrictions on you without explanation, and terminate your accounts for no apparent reason. You ask why and they basically tell you that it is top secret. They really suck. I shop with several companies and have never had issues like this with any of them. Thier helpdesk is no help at all and their secret processes and policies are more important than thir shoppers.

Your remarks surprised me very much. The Marketforce team I work for are respectful, fair, and offer me shops by phone at premium pay. If you prove to be responsible, thorough and reliable you should only have success with this company. You yourself said they have great shops.

I totally agree with you. There “support” is terrible and rude on top of that. They will terminate your account without any explanation. When you try to find out what the problem is they make you jump through hoops and are amazingly rude about it. To me they are not worth it. Too many companies out there to put up with them.

I’ve signed up for Market Force but never participated in any projects. I think the main reason is because my son can not come with me. I wouldn’t be gaining anything if I sent him to a babysitter while I complete the task. This would’ve been great if I were still a college student. Great Vlog πŸ™‚

I signed up but have never done any projects either. For me, it’s just finding the time and then of course their rules about not bringing kids along. My kids are with me probably 90 percent of the time when I go somewhere. I really need to do a shop though at some point. I really love how the Market Force website is laid out and it’s all very professional, as you said, compared to many of the other mystery shopping websites out there.

thanks for the reminder, I had signed up with them back in Dec,2010, never worked any projects, forgot all about them. I gotta get busy, lol. I agree from their website they are much more put together and not scammy (is that word???) like some of the other companies, nice vlog.

I have seen a couple assignments where it does not say you can’t bring kids and one that said no kids under age 10

I need to start checking back into these. The town I always used to do the majority of my shops in is now where I go for my grocery shopping each week. That may work!

Trendsource is a good one for grocery shopping- at least in my area.

I contract with Marketforce also and its a great site to use. But one thing you didn’t mention is there is two different portals you can sign up for with market force. One is the blue portal which is more mysteryshopping types of shops, and the purple portal is mysteryshopping/audits/merchandising types of shops. You have to sign up for both seperately also. If I don’t have the cash to spend up front to do the shops then I like the purple portal because they have a lot of movie theatre and auditing shops that do not require any up front money to do. Some you have to go to a movie and record what ads are playing in the trailer, or sometimes you count how many people are in the theatre etc. But most in the purple portal side do not require up front money where as the blue side usually does and then you get reimbursed. But I usually rotate back and forth between the two. Oh also, for those that want a more permanent type of shop the purple side also has a lot of permanent auditing types shops avail usually. Audits are just where you go and count whatever item they tell you to count and as I said some are permanent positions you can get. But you can apply for them also at the main Marketforce sign up. Its not the one listed above as that just takes you to the blue side. Here is the link for the sign up where you can choose which side you want to sign up for. Again you have to sign up for them seperately if you want to do both sides.

You need to have a scanner to do this. It’s not mentioned here at all but now I have to wait until I can spend an extra $50 bucks on a new scanner or printer with scanner just to do these. So annoying since there are tons and tons of shops for me on a DAILY basis. πŸ™ Wish it had been mentioned here before I signed up and wasted my time.

Im sorry you feel as though you wasted your time. If you have a digital camera or cell phone camera, you can take a picture and send it to your computer either through your data cable, memory card or if you can email it to yourself.

All the details cannot possibly be listed into one review. Information here is not meant to stop you from doing your own due diligence and researching and reading all the details before you accept projects or work.
This is exactly why we linked to the FAQ section before even giving you the link to sign up!

Keep in mind, what you read here is a quick overview to help you decide whether it is something you want to move forward with and learn more about. As companies change, the reviews may become outdated, or we may miss something. So ALWAYS read directions, FAQs and other reviews before placing all trust into one review.

Yes, I have used a camera to take the pictures of the recites. It worked πŸ™‚ Good luck.

Miranda, can you do Market force and be working for another too?

Miranda Grimm

Yes you can work for marketforce while also working for other secret shopping companies.

How can it be a waste of time when you’re making money? As an independant contractor you claim business mileage { .58 a mile }, internet provider fees, and equipment like a scanner, ink, paper etc…….. when you file your business expenses at tax time. Get yourself informed !

Thanks for the info! I applied at market force and was super excited at the thought. I downloaded my application to print and quickly scrolled through. It was then that i realized that i was supposed to click on the words that were spelled CORRECTLY, not INcorrectly! πŸ™ I’m guessing that I won’t hear back. πŸ˜‰

Hi – Are you still doing this? I’m retired USAF and looking for something to do in my spare time (during school hours). Any truth to the reviews I’ve seen stating that leaving positive feedback is the key to getting paid without any hassles? You can email me if you’d prefer to answer in private.
