I am a huge fan of Textbroker! It is something I suggest to anyone who is considering writing online content. Not only is it a great place for people to begin an online writing career but also a great place to make some real money! After making a suggestion to a friend and regular contributor to Work at Home Adventures to check out Textbroker she has become a regular there! Here is her personal experience and tips to success about making extra money online with Textbroker!

How Did I Hear About Textbroker.com?

By: Jessica Weaver

I recently discovered my passion for writing and I was looking for several ways to develop those writing skills. My degree is in education so I really was not sure where to turn to practice. So, I turned to Textbroker and I have earned a big chunk of change in the short time I have been working for them. I heard about Textbroker here at Work at Home Adventures!

How Do I Do it?

There are several articles to choose from and some of them have very interesting topics. To save time, I simply write about topics I know a lot about. For example: there are a lot of articles up for grabs that deal with online education. My husband graduated from an online school so my pool of knowledge is endless in that category. A writer will not make a good living if they are spending a long time researching subjects, so simply try to stick with subjects you are good at. This will be a website I use to pay a certain bill every month, so I will work at it during down times, so that I can build my balance up.

What is the Key to Success with Textbroker.com?

The key to victory with textbroker.com is to send in quality work. Just because this is a job that accepts all types of writers does not mean a person should not take it seriously. I am using this website as a key to building my professional writing talent and I do not send in unprofessional material. The key to succeeding at anything (especially when working at home) is to complete tasks from the heart. Secondly, have fun with writing. If you spend too much time trying to think on a certain subject then this type of website is not for you. I am quick to think and I brainstorm as I’m writing. Also, reading the articles out loud to myself has proven to be an effective editing tool.

When it comes to Textbroker, I’ve discovered certain “don’ts” that are crucial to keep in mind to maintain professionalism and maximize my opportunities. Firstly, I avoid submitting subpar work because even though Textbroker welcomes writers of all levels, I understand the importance of taking the job seriously and delivering high-quality material. Meeting deadlines is another key aspect I prioritize to uphold my reliability and client satisfaction. I make sure not to engage in any form of plagiarism or content spinning, always striving to create original content that reflects my own voice. Following client instructions is vital, as I aim to meet their specific requirements and deliver work that aligns with their expectations. Lastly, I emphasize ethical practices by refraining from promoting illegal activities or using deceptive tactics. Upholding these “don’ts” helps me maintain professional integrity and contributes positively to my success on Textbroker.

I recently just came apart of this site.
I like the simplicity it offers and it seems fairly easy however I am finding that the orders to write for are totally out of my league.
It seems like everything I would have to research…
What are your suggestions? What works best for you?

Some of it you do have to research. If you are going to pick a topic like that (that requires research) I would pick something that will pay 5-7 dollars. That way if you are going to research it will actually be worth your time. You can also search for specific subjects.

Oh yes, if I have to research a subject I plan on making it worth my time!
Thanks for replying 🙂

I second you on reading the articles out loud. That really really helps and I’ve used that technique myself many times. When you’re reading something silently, it’s hard to notice how well things flow, but when you say it, the problems are much more obvious to spot. Excellent post! I love Textbroker 🙂

Jess,

I would dare to claim that I am a large customer of Textbroker, and lately I am seriously frustrated. The site has had a lot of lag or downtime. Also articles do not show up instantly when the writers upload them. Have you notice all these issues?

Hey, I just wanted to say that this wasa really informative blog. I recently joined textbroker and am enjoying some success. However, i was wondering if you had ever tried other such platforms that you could either recommend or discuss? I have worked for Independent Publishing for a while now and found them to be equally as adequate as Textbroker, but there are also companies like Seed.com and the world renowned demandstudios. Do you have any knowledge on the appropriateness of these? Cheers, John

What’s happening to Textbroker? There are so few jobs available and virtually none below 4 stars. It’s been a while since I visited the site, so I was shocked to see the total number of assignments in the 200 range. A few months ago, they were in the 2K range. I don’t know how they’ll sustain themselves at the current count. Where have all the writers and customers migrated to? Did I miss a big news flash?

If there was a newslfash, I missed out as well. Pretty much every content mill I know of is lacking work right now. I think right now, you should turn to private clients. Look around freelancer.com, odesk, freelanced…etc…there are a lot of people on there asking for writers to complete projects. On the downside- you have to be careful for people who do not pay and that can be hard to tell. I am hoping things change for the better soon, with heating bills and holiday events coming, its stressful.

Textbroker also has a website for French, German and now UK writers. It’s a good place to start for freelance writers.
