How to Join Sweatcoin
If you’re interested in trying Sweatcoin and want to see how it works, go ahead and download the app from your app store.
Once it’s installed, you will need to answer a few questions the app asks, like your name, email address, and your phone number (to verify that it’s really you).
You’ll also need to make sure your location services are on, because this is how the app will track your steps.
Once you finish the signup process, you’ll get 0.95 SWC to get you started.
This is about the equivalent to what you’d make from walking 1,000 steps.
You’re ready to start earning once you’re signed up!
How Does Sweatcoin Work?
Sweatcoin is pretty simple to figure out.
The app uses your GPS location to track your steps, which is why it’s necessary to turn on your location services so that it can track your distance.
It then turns that distance into an estimated number of steps.
Unfortunately, the app can’t currently track the steps you make indoors because of its GPS requirement, but it does mention that this feature should be on its way.
Literally, all you need to do is walk.
The more you walk, the more you can make with Sweatcoin.
You’ll make about 0.95 SWC, the same you get for signing up, for every 1,000 steps you take.
Most experts recommend getting in at least 10,000 steps each day if you’re able to, which would equal 9.50 SWC.
Unfortunately, with a free subscription (we’ll get into this more in a moment), you can only earn up to 5 SWC a day, or 150 each month.
Remember to keep the app running in the background.
You don’t need to have the app open, but just make sure it keeps running on your mobile device so that it can continue to track your location.
When you join Sweatcoin, you’ll automatically be signed up for the free Mover subscription.
This is a 100% free subscription but it caps your eligible steps at 5,000 a day, or 5 SWC each day.
The upper subscriptions will cost you some SWC each month, but you’ll be able to earn more for your steps.
So, if you think you’re going to walk much more than 5,000 steps a day, you might want to consider getting one of the other subscriptions.
Remember that they won’t cost real money, just SWC.
The next level is Shaker, which allows you up to 10 SWC a day, or 300 per month, and you’ll pay 4.75 SWC each month.
Next is Quaker, which costs 20 SWC per month and gives you up to 15 SWC a day or 450 per month.
Finally, there’s Breaker that costs 30 SWC a month and allows you to make 20 SWC each day or 600 per month.

There are two other ways you can make money with Sweatcoin, so it isn’t all about the walking (although that’s where most of your earnings will come from!).
First, you can invite your friends to the app and make some extra SWC that way.

As I mentioned, Sweatcoin doesn’t pay you with cash, but instead gives you SWC to pay for rewards.
When you’re ready to spend your rewards, you can click on your wallet in the app and then the Spend link.
This will take you to the catalog to see what’s available.
Not everyone will have the same rewards.
It depends on your location and how frequently you use the app.
But you can find a variety of prizes in a range of prices.
For example, you can spend 4.99 SWC to get two months of Audible free plus a $5 Amazon credit.
You can also get three months of TV.FIT for at-home workouts for just 9.99 SWC.
There are also offers called Marathon offers, which are more expensive prizes, like wireless headphones, an iPhone XS, and a wearable keyboard.
You’ll find everything from charity donations and crowdfunding donations to technology and experiences in the rewards catalog.

Check back every so often because the rewards here rotate frequently, so you might see new stuff added each day, week, or month.
Sweatcoin Review: Is Sweatcoin Legit or a Scam?
What do others have to say about Sweatcoin?
Well, the app has excellent reviews in the App Store and Google Play and other reviews from members around the web give it a lot of praise.
I haven’t seen people mentioning not getting paid.
The one complaint is that it can take a while to earn enough SWC for big prizes, but on the plus side, that just means you have something to work for!
Yes, you’ll need to walk a lot to earn big prizes.
But the point of the app is motivation, so in that sense, it’s doing its job.
I’ve seen some other people mention that their steps aren’t completely getting tracked.
I would suggest really paying attention to your steps and tracking them with another fitness tracker or watch, just so you can compare.
Sweatcoin isn’t 100% perfect with its step tracking because it bases your steps on your GPS location rather than actual steps, but it seems pretty close in my case.
Overall, this is absolutely an app I’d consider legit.
If you walk frequently anyway, you might as well earn a little money doing it!
Final Thoughts About Sweatcoin
I personally enjoy this app as another tool in my fitness toolkit.
If you walk several miles a day, mostly outside rather than on a treadmill, it can be fun to earn rewards for doing something you do every day anyway.
I don’t really see the need to pay for a subscription, but some people might.
You can always try it for a month and see if it’s worth it to you.
You might get a decent boost in earnings if you do decide to go for one, despite it charging you a few SWC for the subscription.
