So I am new to the world of writing. But I am loving it more and more every day. I have already drastically cut my hours back at LiveOps (phone work). My goal is to keep gaining experience, start my schooling next month and once I am more professional and polished begin applying for the higher paying jobs. Currently I work with TextBroker.com and I really love their layout. They list all of the articles available to you by your rating (rated 1-5 stars based on your work with them). You choose which article subject you wish to write and the pay varies depending on rating and word count. Most of my articles range from 350-500 words and I am paid $4-6 each. I began searching for other companies similar to TextBroker so that I would have more options and variety in article subjects. This is when I ran into two new companies.

First is WordGigs.com. They also hire newbies and it is a great place to gain experience. Unfortunately they are currently not hiring. But you can give them your email address and be put on their list to be contacted when they have openings.

The other, more hopeful site, is a new one: WriterAccess.com. I applied yesterday morning and by the evening I had received my approval email and was able to log into the site and write 2 articles for them. The articles paid better than TextBroker. 350 word ‘How To’ article paid $7.11. Considering it was on a subject I already knew it took me 45 minutes to complete. Not too bad considering I am new to the field.

As I have said in a previous post. Writing from home is a very lucrative opportunity. I am amazed every day by the number of job postings made for writers. If anyone is interested in learning more and finding anywhere from newbie jobs to professional ones that pay guaranteed money, or even find ways to make a residual income from writing, feel free to contact me with your  info either here or through facebook or read the Writing thread at WorkPlaceLikeHome.com forum.

Have a nice weekend!

I'm not sure if they're hiring right now or not, but check out Remilon – they do optimized articles for a bunch of different education-oriented websites, and they pay hourly, which is nice. Give it a try.

are you KIDDING?!! $4-6 each for 300 words? that's about a tenth of what a professional would charge. don't undervalue yourself so much!!

Demand Studios pays $15 per 300-500 word article….

Thanks for the encouragement. You are right, professional writing pays much more. I am currently working on building up my profile, resume and writing samples so I can apply for companies like Demand Studios. I applied at Breakstudios and was rejected. Which tells me I need more time to polish my skills. Textbroker and Writer Access are great ways to get started in the writing industry. They not only provide experience but also offer great feedback.

Good luck! I just started my writing career. Well, I had to do something since unemployment does not last forever. I have just started with Textbroker and don't mind the lower pay since I am building up my portfolio of articles. It's a great way to start your career and pays more than some sites. I just was accepted my Demand Studios but have yet to write an article since I need to read their style guides first. I have also posted an article with Associated content and have accounts with Emerging Cast and Suite 101. I am trying them all to see which I like best and to gain experience.

The more you talk about other writing sites the less work will be on them. Online writing won't be around forever and the more people talk about it the lower the pay will be and the less assignments will be available …

Wow, sounds like someone has some job insecurity issues. There are tons of paid online writing jobs out there and opportunities continue to grow. Pass the word around because it’s a great way to earn side-income or for good writers to make a change and possibly work from home.

I don't think so….most people write a few articles and then realize it's hard work to crank out 5-10 articles, day after day after day…..which is what you need to do if you want to make any kind of a living at it. Or they get a few rejections and decide it's not for them. Most of the writing sites have many members but a very small number who are active on an ongoing basis.

Other writers move on once they improve their writing skills and get hungry for the higher-paying jobs. People trying to hoard all the good writing sites to themselves should realize you get what you give. Thank god for all the people who do share information and opportunities – I'm one person who would still be scraping by on unemployment if everyone kept their writing sites secret.

Content Mills are okay to gain experience, confidence and some cash. The trick to writing for content mills is to find multiple assignments on different sites, do the research and submit similar, not the same articles to each. good luck.

Hi! I started writingfor WriterAccess at the beginning of April. I was rated a 3 and completed 35 assignments during the month of April and made $374!

I also work daily with other employers on my own and I got them by using freelancer.com. The only bad thing about freelancer is if you don’t want to pay their fees and you go off on your own, you run the risk of writing a LOT of articles and not getting paid for them.

I started writing full time in February of this year and since the day I started I have averaged about $1200 a month.

For those looking to get into it, using WriterAccess and Freelancer.com (sign up by using this link to give me credit http://www.freelancer.com/affiliates/jennifern2213)are really great starting places. I have some employers that pay me less ($2 for 500 words) and some that pay more ($1 per 100 words) and you need to get a good reputation first if you want to start making a great income with it.

I also started my own blog since I have agoraphobia, panic disorder, anxiety and depression, and a little OCD. I should be able to qualify for disability and when social security told me I was “perfectly capable of working” when I can’t leave the house to go to the grocery store by myself; I decided to go back to writing. Since then, my anxiety levels have gone way down and I feel like I have found my purpose and my self confidence has risen greatly since I am finally able to help provide for my family!

I can write about 20 articles of 500 words every day, and the more you write, the more money you will make! I have a gift and always have, not everyone can write as quickly and efficiently as I can, but I was in college level English 101 when I was a sophomore in high school, and I have OCD so I can’t spell a word wrong or I will have a panic attack!! LOL (Not really but it does make me anxious to see spelling and grammar errors)

Good luck to all you writers out there! There are thousands of articles and it is a never ending thing; websites and business owners are always looking for fresh content to promote their items, websites and services. Rather than wasting your time and money searching for “get rich quick” and “make money from home”…just get on at some great freelance and article writing sites and actually do the work to make your money!

LOL and to prove my OCD I am so freaking out the in the first sentence of my last post there isn’t a space between “writing” and “for”!!
