Well, maybe not in the sense you are thinking…but YES when it comes to work at home jobs!

This Valentine’s Day I wanted to stop and think about our relationships with Working at Home. After putting things into perspective, I realize I am, or rather WAS, a bit of a Work at Home Floozy!

When I first began looking for a Work at Home Job, I was not really searching for anything long term, not wanting a committed relationship but something that could satisfy my temporary needs. I just had a baby and I needed some more support.Happy Valentine's Day!

I dated around a bit, played footsie with ChaCha and Survey Sites. However, things got a little more serious when I met LiveOps. My relationship with LiveOps lasted a couple of years but I must admit- I was never truly happy. I was constantly seeking other, more compatible Work at Home Jobs. After being stood up too many times by LiveOps and being left waiting by the phone for a ring that never came, I said goodbye. So hard to let go of something that begins to feel comfortable, even when you know it is just not the right one.

My search for a better work at home job continued. I speed dated with writing sites and played the field with some low wage, good for nothing companies. Why did I even bother?

I thought I met the right one when I heard about TQA with Demand Media. I should have known it was too perfect. I often felt I was taking advantage of TQA, working only when I wanted, receiving more than I really gave.. Things were getting really steady between TQA and I when out of nowhere they dumped me. Left me in the cold. I was so devastated. I hated the feeling of rejection.

But I did like any other strong gal would do and I picked myself up and jumped right into a relationship with Leapforce, it may have been my rebound but it worked. I was quickly over TQA!

But the connection was missing, once again.

I finally met Freelance Web Design and we fell in love. I have never been more sure of something than my relationship with this Home Based Job!!!
This is a long term commitment.  In fact, I have been thinking of marriage with this one!  Now when I see other attractive Work at Home jobs, I don’t even bother. I know I have found the one for me!

Love it, Miranda. Happy Valentine’s Day to you. Cute post with a play on words! I’m glad you met the ONE (freelance web design).

Me? I guess I just can’t be a one-client woman. Still playing the field, juggling them all. LOL

Haha Leisa. Settling down may not be for everyone 😉

Haha, love the metaphor! I dated West for awhile but found that LiveOps was a better fit for me. We’re 4 years going strong now…and last year they asked me to join their Auditing team too! I keep in touch with several freelance and mystery shopping companies (never one to burn bridges unless it was absolutely necessary), but for the most part I’m in a long term Lopper relationship!

I too once dated West. It was very very short lived. They did not like my location, being in Indiana, and dropped me.

I keep a few options in my black book still, I just did a recent Mystery Shop and check in on other WAH jobs where I have accounts from time to time. But I think that will fade as my relationship grows stronger with Web Design.

🙂 this is fun hehe

LOL Silly girl. I’m glad you finally found something to settle down with. It sure makes things a lot less stressful when you don’t have to worry about impressing potential suitors anymore.

Thanks Angie:) It does relieve a lot of stress when you feel satisfied enough to stop looking for the next best thing. … now its just so I can write about it on the blog lol

I agree with what you said about Demand. It did feel too good to be true. I always hoped they were “the one” although I often had my doubts. I’m curious if you’d mind sharing what you do for Freelance Web Design and if there’s opportunities for the rest of us.

Yes Victoria! If you have some interest in Design, then you can definitely find work.

I wrote an article on someone’s blog about how to get started.

Trust me, there is a LOT of work in this field and the pay is worth it.

I am actually considering putting a hold to new orders because work is coming in so fast!!!

Good luck!
