This recipe will take a little more than 30 minutes of your time and about $10 out of your wallet.

Ingredients:

4 Chicken Breast halves  (I prefer Tyson’s Trim and Ready thin sliced)
Shake -N- Bake (Extra Crispy is preferred)
2 cups of instant rice
1 Can of a condensed creamy soup. (I prefer Cream of chicken but used Cream of Mushroom. Original recipe suggests Cream of Celery- which I think is just wrong)
1/4 cup of milk- but who’s measuring really.
Several handfuls of shredded cheese
Can of Green Beans

Let’s Get Started!

1. Turn your oven on to 400 degrees and let it warm up while you prepare your chicken.

2. Follow the instructions on the Shake and Bake and place your coated chicken into a 13 by 9 inch glass baking pan.

3. Place in the oven to cook fully. Approximately 20 minutes or until the internal temp reaches 160 degrees.

4. Prepare your side dishes.  I warmed up a can of green beans and made a couple cups of instant rice (replaced the water with chicken stock for a LITTLE added flavor).

5.  Prepare the creamy part of the crisp and creamy chicken by mixing the milk and the creamy soup together.

6. Pour the creamy mixture over the chicken after it has finished cooking.  Then throw (lightly) the cheese onto the top of it all.

7. Place it back into the oven for another 5 minutes- just long enough to warm up the cream and melt the cheese.

Your girls are so cute 🙂 The food looks delicious! I think I have one boy that would eat it, but another who would probably refuse it (as he seems to do with everything that’s not pizza these days) 🙂

Thanks Anna! My girls struggle to eat it. I have made this probably a few dozens times since they have been a live and slowly they are eating more and more of it. lol. That is actually why you see a pile of cheese on their plate, I wanted to make sure they got SOMETHING. Thankfully Olivia enjoys the rice and Sara will each the chicken with the rice picked off! Sometimes I wonder how they survive and how they are not a bag of bones!?

Cool, my kids may actually like this. My son is such a picky eater but he does like chicken so I will give this a try. Thanks!

It’s pretty kid friendly for the most part. Nothing strange in it- especially if you do cream of chicken instead of mushroom. Most kids love cheese and this is definitely cheesy.
