Since you’re reading this, though, I assume you just stumbled into the wonderful world of cashback shopping and want to know where to find the best deals.

Great!

I can help you there.

Cashback shopping is the best way to get some money back for your online purchases.

You know how the old-fashioned mail-in rebates worked?

You’d make a purchase and then have to send in a rebate form along with your receipt to take advantage of a rebate offer.

Well, cashback shopping works similarly – but it’s so much easier and quicker.

If you’re a big online shopper like I am, cashback shopping sites can literally save you hundreds of dollars a year!

This is how it works:

  • Visit a cashback shopping site
  • Click on the offer you want to take advantage of
  • The site takes you to the online retailer where you can make a purchase
  • Receive the cashback percentage of your purchase in your account once the sale is confirmed!

Simple, right?

The best part is that some brands through these cashback shopping sites offer huge rebate percentages and even let you combine discounts with your rebate.

Best Cashback Sites for Online Shoppers

There are several cashback shopping sites out there, but the following six are the ones I use the most frequently.

They partner with almost any online retailer you can imagine and have the best rebates and discounts to save you the most money!

Swagbucks (review)

Swagbucks isn’t just a cashback shopping portal.

In fact, it offers several ways that you can make money!

However, it’s probably the one that I use the most.

I find that Swagbucks has rebates for just about every online retailer I shop with and its cashback offers are great.

Swagbucks is a rewards site, also known as a Get Paid To (GPT) site, that pays you for taking surveys, referring friends, watching videos, and more.

You get paid with SBs, which is the Swagbucks version of points.

Redeem your points for one of hundreds of gift card options, including PayPal cash.

When you use the cashback shopping feature on Swagbucks, you’ll earn a percentage of your purchase back in SBs or a specific SB amount, depending on the retailer.

It’s also simple to figure out what you’ll earn because Swagbucks outlines your earnings with every offer.

For an offer with 6% cashback, for example, you’ll earn 6 SBs for every dollar you spend.

A $100 purchase, then, will give you 600 SBs. With those points, you can get $6 worth of Amazon gift cards!

Your SBs do take some time to reflect on your account, which is the only downside of Swagbucks.

You have to wait until the retailer confirms your purchase with Swagbucks, plus another few weeks for them to move from pending into your account balance.

But, if you shop regularly, you’ll see your earnings consistently pile up.

Ebates (review)

One of the best things about Ebates is that you get $10 added to your account just for creating an account!

Then, you can start referring your friends and earn another $15 for each person who signs up.

Even if you don’t use the cashback shopping offers here, you can still make money!

But, Ebates has some of the best rebate offers you won’t want to miss out on.

And, it partners with top online retailers, like Walmart, Macy’s, and Kohl’s, so you don’t need to worry about missing out on savings from your favorite stores.

Most cashback offers here range between 4% and 8% of your purchase.

However, there are very high-paying offers here that can give you 40% cashback or more!

Ebates also provides tons of discounts on products and purchases for your favorite stores and then includes a cashback rebate on top of them.

For example, a current Blue Apron offer gives you 40% savings on your first subscription box, plus you’ll get an additional $7 cashback through Ebates for using its portal.

You can also check out the Double Cash Back Stores link at the top of the site.

This is where Ebates will periodically rotate stores and offer at least double the usual cashback rate!

I’ve seen Walmart’s cashback rebate go from 1% to 10% here sometimes, which is a huge jump.

Ebates doesn’t leave out in-store shoppers either.

You can also grab some cashback at your favorite brick and mortar retailers by using Ebates and linking your preferred shopping card.

MyPoints (review)

MyPoints is one of the oldest shopping portals on the web.

It once used to focus mostly on cashback shopping, but has since branched out to paid surveys, videos, games, and other fun activities too.

Here, you’ll earn points instead of cash for your shopping trips.

MyPoints lets you know how many points you’ll receive per dollar with each retailer before you start shopping though.

Most offers give you between 2 and 5 points per dollar.

You can redeem your points for gift cards starting at only 480 points, which is equal to $3.

You’ll also find coupons and deals on MyPoints to help you save even more money when shopping online!

BeFrugal

BeFrugal is a site that’s a newbie on the scene compared to some more established cashback sites.

However, it’s quickly becoming a favorite of many online shoppers (including myself!).

BeFrugal gives you $10 just to sign up, plus up to 40% cashback for your favorite online stores.

There are over 5,000 partnered retailers here, so there’s a good chance that you can find everything you need through the portal.

What I love about BeFrugal is that it stands by its promise to have the highest cashback percentages of all cashback sites.

If you find a site that has a higher cashback rate for any given retailer, you can contact BeFrugal and be eligible for that rate plus an additional 25% cashback!

BeFrugal even has printable coupons and hand-picked deals to help you save even more money when shopping online or in-store.

The handy mobile app for iOS and Android devices gives you even more ways to save when you’re on the go, even offering restaurant coupons!

The site pays your cashback rewards out via check, direct deposit, PayPal, or Amazon Gift Card.

The minimum payout amount is $25 unless you use PayPal, which is as little as $0.01!

FlipGive

FlipGive is a little different than other cashback shopping sites because it doesn’t give you your earnings directly.

Instead, anything you make through the site goes toward a fund you choose, like your child’s school fundraising efforts.

This is a great site to use if you want to join other parents in raising funds for community events, schools, or sporting teams.

Everything your team earns from cashback shopping will go toward your money goals.

The portal works the same as other sites.

Visit FlipGive, choose a retailer, and shop.

You can create a shop for your team on the website, which you can set up in just a minute or two.

Give everyone on your team the information and they’ll be able to track the team’s money goal progress.

I would also encourage all your members to download the FlipGive browser extension, which alerts you anytime you go to a participating retailer’s website.

That way, you’ll never forget to snatch up a deal that could benefit your team when you’re shopping online!

Mr. Rebates

Mr. Rebates houses over 2500 partnered retailers ready to give you excellent cashback offers on your purchases.

You can expect to earn an average of between 3% and 5% cashback for your purchases here, but of course, some retailers give you much more.

Most rebates get credited to your account within 1 to 3 business days, which is faster than some other rebate sites.

Of course, that all depends on how fast the retailer confirms your purchase, which may sometimes take up to 30 business days.

You only need $10 in your account to cash out via check or PayPal, so it shouldn’t take you too long to be eligible to redeem your cash!

Mr. Rebates also has a mobile app and a browser extension that can help you earn money conveniently anywhere you decide to shop.

Bonus: Cashback Apps to Earn Money on Your Phone!

Cashback sites are great, but what about if you’re on the go shopping at your favorite brick and mortar stores?

Some cashback sites have in-store rebates available, but most only focus on online retailers.

That’s where cashback apps can come in handy!

Here are three top cashback apps that can save you money on the go:

iBotta (review)

iBotta is an amazing app that I encourage all deal lovers to get.

I shop at Walmart a lot, so I use this app the most for my purchases there, but there are several partnered retailers you can use.

iBotta lets you choose offers before you shop.

Then, go to the store and make the purchase.

Be sure you follow all the instructions, because some rebates require that you purchase a certain number of items or specific package size to be eligible.

After you get home, you can scan your receipt and redeem all your rewards!

iBotta lets you work as a team with your friends, too, when you connect your Facebook account.

Your team can meet goals with shopping tasks and redemptions to earn cash even quicker.

When you have $20 in your account, you can withdraw your earnings to your PayPal account.

iBotta also has partnered online retailers that offer rebates for your online purchases!

Drop

Drop is an app that lets you link your favorite credit and debit cards to earn rewards when you shop.

And you don’t even have to shop at a store!

The website says that you can earn money on a variety of purchases, such as dining at your favorite restaurant or paying an Uber driver to take you somewhere.

The only catch is that you can only link a few retailers’ offers to your account at a time, so make sure that they’re ones you shop with the most.

Drop also has offers that you can complete to earn more money.

Some are free offers, others are trial offers, and others require a payment of some sort from which you’ll get cashback.

There’s even a referral system that gives you 1,000 points for each friend you refer to the app!

You can redeem your points for various popular gift cards, like Amazon and Starbucks.

Shopkick

Shopkick is another app you’ll want to use when you go shopping.

You can earn money with online Shopkick partners, too, but you can really maximize your rewards here by using the app in-store.

While you shop, you can earn “kicks”, or the Shopkick version of points, when you scan the barcodes of products you purchase, scan receipts, use a linked credit or debit card to purchase your items, and more.

Technically, you don’t even have to make a purchase to earn kicks with Shopkick.

You can just stroll through the store and scan product barcodes if you want!

When you have enough kicks to redeem them for a gift card, you can choose from a selection of several popular gift cards, like Target and Sephora.

Conclusion: Get Paid to Shop Online or In-Store!

Get shopping and start earning!

These cashback shopping sites and apps will pay you to shop – what could be better than that?

Plus, the rewards come to you much faster than those old-school mail-in rebates do!

Do you use any of the above apps or websites for cashback shopping?

Are there any others you use?
